The new Federal Legislation 'ARC' Board has been elected and it 'Stinks'.
To summarise there is a representative of the Manufacturing industry,
Electrical industry, Wholesalers industry, Refrigerant reclaim and two members
representing the Motor Trades industry.
So once again the people this legislation affects the most will not be
represented. The contractors and refrigeration technicians out there doing
the work that is pivotal to the reduction in Greenhouse Gas Omissions have
been slapped in the face with what amounts to a statement from the government
saying we don't think your opinions are worthwhile.
Instead the government
are happy to receive advice from people who are not at the grass roots of
our industry. It is time all Refrigeration Technicians out there to take ACTION.
I am calling on all members and all technicians to write to Patrick McInerney the
Director of the Ozone and Synthetic Gas Team at the Department of Environment
and Heritage and to The Hon. Ian Campbell, Minister for DEH protesting the
make up of the ARC board, specifically the lack of representation for the 70%
of working people out there this legislation will be affecting.
