In 1957 R.A.C.C.A. was founded in Sydney and quickly grew to be in all mainland States of Australia on a State basis. As a contractors Association it is based on Company Membership, but also includes technician status.

The Association endeaours to be involved wherever heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration Industry is affected. This includes being on Standards Committees, training and education committees and industry, environmental and Government lobby groups.

This ensures that R.A.C.C.A. remains at the forefront of any changes that affect our Industry and is seen as the premier body to consult with when considering changes that effect the Industry.

R.A.C.C.A., by it's formation, definition and purpose is a typical trade Association, drawing its active and voting membership from the Australian Refrigeration and Air Condition Contracting Industry. It is a voluntary and non-profit Organisation.

R.A.C.C.A.'s Federal Council is the affiliated R.A.C.C.A. Associations from five mainland states

Some of these organisations have been in operation since 1943. The Federal Council co-ordinates the activities of the state member associations, deal with all matters on an Australia-wide basis and implements R.A.C.C.A.'s policy on the national level.

As a modern Trade Association, R.A.C.C.A. is keenly aware of the increasing challenge of business itself, the rapid changes in technical developments, product applications, marketing etc., and is consciously prepared to continually review its policies and actions in order to keep ahead of events and serve the membership and their industry.
